1972-1988

January 2, 1972

Dr. Hans Flick and Rudolf Gocke open the firm’s first office at Frankenstraße 9 in Bonn-Bad Godesberg.

The leadership team grows

Prof. Dr. Harald Schaumburg joins the firm. He becomes a partner in 1978.

Throughout the 1980s, the firm is named Dr. Flick & Partner.

Renaming

Dr. Flick & Partner becomes Flick Gocke Schaumburg.

Relocation and growth

Flick Gocke Schaumburg outgrows the 11 apartments on its premises and moves into a new building: Johanna-Kinkel-Straße 2–4, Bonn. The office is expanded in 2002.

Flick Gocke Schaumburg opens an office in Berlin.

Branching out to new clients

Prof. Dr. Harald Schaumburg and Prof. Dr. Thomas Rödder publish their commentary on reorganization tax law – spurring Flick Gocke Schaumburg to add large companies to its client base.

Flick Gocke Schaumburg opens an office in Frankfurt.


2000-2013

Change of leadership

Prof. Dr. Harald Schaumburg succeeds Dr. Hans Flick as the chairman of the partnership.

New managing partner and another new office

Prof. Dr. Thomas Rödder is elected chairman of the partnership (now managing partner), succeeding Harald Schaumburg.

Flick Gocke Schaumburg opens an office in Munich.

40th anniversary celebrations with clients and colleagues at the Art and Exhibition Hall in Bonn.

Internationalization

Flick Gocke Schaumburg joins Praxity, a worldwide alliance of leading independent accounting firms.

JUVE Law Firm of the Year for succession/private wealth/foundations.

Internationalization continues

Flick Gocke Schaumburg joins Taxand, the international network of independent tax advisory firms in over 40 countries.

Flick Gocke Schaumburg opens an office in Hamburg.

FGS Campus

The foundation stone for the new office at Fritz-Schäffer-Straße in Bonn is symbolically laid on October 2, 2014.

Relocation to the brand-new FGS Campus in Bonn.

JUVE award

JUVE Law Firm of the Year for succession/private wealth/foundations.

FGS app

The first FGS app, called Trennungsmanager, is launched. It was developed in cooperation with Kienbaum and Cetonis.

Flick Gocke Schaumburg opens an office in Stuttgart.

JUVE award for taxes

Flick Gocke Schaumburg receives the first JUVE award for taxes, being named Law Firm of the Year for corporate tax.

Female authors from Flick Gocke Schaumburg publish a compendium on diversity in tax-focused legal advice.

Flick Gocke Schaumburg moves up into the top 10 law firms in Germany in terms of revenue. It takes 8th place with the largest revenue increase among the top 100 law firms in Germany.
